Who We Are

Macula Science was developed by Ron P. Gallemore, MD, PhD.
Dr. Gallemore was an investigator in both the AREDS I and II clinical trials (Age Related Eye Disease Study), and a consultant for vitamin formulations for over two decades.  He has published over 200 articles in the fields of retinal function and macular disease. He is a clinical professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine, and the Founder and Director of the Retina Macula Institute and Research Center, Los Angeles, California.  He continues to see patients daily and remains a leader in clinical research, patient care and education. His PhD in Neuroscience focused on the Retinal Pigment Epithelium, the key cell involved in macular degeneration.
